Register to be part of the Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee for South Gippsland.

South Gippsland Shire Council is working to ensure that everyone in our community has equal access to public spaces, goods, services and facilities. To achieve this, Council created an Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee to provide and guidance on the following:

  • Access and inclusion issues.
  • Promoting inclusion, access and equity.
  • Development of the Access and Inclusion Action Plan.

The Committee is currently made up of 11 members, which are a combination of community members with lived experience of barriers to access and inclusion, and organisational representatives who work with access and inclusion issues. It currently meets once a month in Leongatha (generally on a Monday evening). All meetings have an online option for those who are unable to attend in person. Food is provided. Every attempt will be made to support Committee Members to access meetings. Individual access requirements will be asked of new Committee Members during their application and orientation to the Committee.

South Gippsland Shire Council is seeking to expand this membership to include more community member representation.
